COUNTY TEAM MANAGER, MARK WIEDEHOLZ, WELCOMES FRESH BLOOD AND IDEAS TO THE KENT MANAGEMENT TEAM FOR 2008/09 SEASON.

An advert was posted to the membership back in June 2008 for the then vacant “A” and “B” Team manager’s positions. The response, I'm afraid to say, was not great in quantity of applicants but this was made up with by quality of applicants.

For the “A” Team Manager’s position there were 3 applicants, all of which had previous county and managerial experience. The three applicants were put through an interview process conducted by the premier team captain, Mr Tim Rycraft and myself, Mr Mark Wiedeholz - County Team Manager, which lasted several hours.

I am pleased to announce that following these interviews the position of “A” Team manager will be filled by Mr Derek Carpenter, who was elected as the successor to Ray Ann's. I would firstly like to congratulate Derek on his appointment and welcome him into the county management team. I would secondly like to thank the other two applicants, Mr Keith Austin and Mrs Jan Davey, for their efforts in planning for the interview and their willingness to put themselves forward.

The vacant position of “B” Team manager was a little easier to fill as there was only one interested applicant, Mr Dave Kruse, who I think will be a popular choice amongst the “B” Team regulars. I'm pleased to also announce that assisting Dave in managing the “B” Team will be Mr John Hallett who has done a great job over the past few years in his role as Captain of the B-Team. I would like to wish both Dave and John every success this year.

I'm sure that you all as county bowlers will get behind the new managers and help them help you and Kent have success in the years to come.
