KENT A BEAT SOMERSET IN THE FINAL OF THE ENGLISH INTER
COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP FOR 2010/2011
Kent A became Englands ICC A team
champions for the 4th time when they beat Somerset 24-16 in the final
played at Caroline Chisholm School,
Northampton on Sunday 13 March
2011. The A team finished top of their regional league against East Sussex,
Hampshire and West Sussex to qualify for the national knockout stage. In the
quarter finals Northamptonshire were beaten 33-7 and Devon were beaten 21-19 in
the semi finals.
Kent "A" have
previously been English "A" County Champions in 2001/02, 2005/06 and
2006/07 and have been losing finalists on four occasions.
The Kent Premier Team finished their 2010/11 campaign
at the semi finals stage when they lost to Cheshire.
The Kent Premier team won their regional
league against East Sussex, Hampshire, Surrey and West Sussex to qualify for
the national knockout stage. In the quarter finals Kent beat Devon 30-10 (196
shots 151 shots) before losing to Cheshire 18-22 in the semi finals.
Kent have previously
been English County Champions in 1994/95, 1997/98, 1998/99, 2000/01, 2001/02
and 2002/03 and have been losing finalists on four occasions.
Players from the following clubs within the
Maidstone & District Short Mat Triples League were represented in the Kent
Premier team: Burham, Langley, Tovil and Tunbury.

"A" team: Burham, Hempstead Valley, Ryarsh, Tovil and Tunbury.
