Each set of eight players play three games: two games of Fours over 12 ends and one game of Pairs over 15 ends.

KENT "A" LOSE IN THE FINAL OF THE ENGLISH INTER COUNTY "A" CHAMPIONSHIP FOR 2007/2008

Congratulations to the Kent "A" Team for their performances in this year’s English Inter County "A" Championships. Having reached the final for the third year running, they were unable to retain the title, eventually losing to West Sussex “A”. The final was played on Sunday 9 March 2008 at Northampton.

The Kent "A" team came second in their regional league against East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire and Surrey to qualify for the national knockout stage. In the preliminary round Norfolk were beaten 25-11 (181 shots – 161), in the quarterfinals Somerset were defeated 22-14 (189 shots - 186) and Cornwall were defeated 20-16 (174 shots - 156) in the semi-finals. In the final, Kent “A” lost to West Sussex “A” 11-25 (154 shots - 180).

Kent "A" has previously been English "A" County Champions in 2001/02, 2005/06 and 2006/07.

Cheshire halted the Kent Premier team's campaign for this season, in the semi-finals. The Premier team finished top of their regional league against East Sussex, Surrey and London to qualify for the national knockout stage. In the quarterfinals Avon were beaten 27-9 (214 shots - 132), before Kent finally lost 16 – 20 (150 shots – 178 shots), to Cheshire, in the semi-final.

Kent has previously been English County Champions in 1994/95, 1997/98, 1998/99, 2000/01, 2001/02 and 2002/03.

The results are as follows:
Surrey v Kent on Saturday 10th May.
In the pairs:
M. Fitzgerald and T. Rycraft won 12-8.
F. Wiedeholz and G. Allard won 21-5.
R. Palmer and G. Best won 23-1.
A. Harwood and T. Harwood won 21- 6.
In the Fours:
M. Fitzgerald, F. Wiedeholz, G. Allard and T. Rycraft drew both of their games 11-11 and 12-12.
A. Harwood, R. Palmer, T. Harwood and G. Best won both of their games 16-12 and 17-5 respectively.

In the pairs:
I. Benton and M. Wiedeholz won 10-9.
D. Kruse and S. Watson won 22-5.
P. Boozer and P. Boozer won 28-3.
J. Davey and J. Davey lost 8-15.
In the Fours:
I. Benton, D. Kruse, S. Watson and M. Wiedeholz won both of their games 17-6 and 24-1 respectively.
J. Davey, P. Boozer, J. Davey and P. Boozer won both of their games 23-9 and 16-7 respectively.
The overall score was Kent 32 points (281 shots) v Surrey 4 points (115 shots).
A great start for Kent.
